The White Ball, Marriott Aurora, 12 December 2009

To mark the festive season the Irish Club is holding a Christmas ball at 7pm on Saturday 12 December in the Marriott Aurora hotel. Tickets cost RUR 4,000 and all interested should contact the Committee.

Children’s Christmas Party, 13 December, Embassy of Ireland

We will hold our annual children’s Christmas party on Sunday 13 December from 12:00 – 14:00. All members are welcome to bring their children to come meet Santa! Many thanks to the Ambassador and his family for welcoming us into their home.

Business Breakfast, 30 September, Embassy of Ireland

All members are invited to attend a Business Breakfast at the Embassy from 08.30 to 10am. The theme of the breakfast will be: Residential Real Estate in Moscow: effects of the crisis. Speakers will include Mr David Gilmartin of Troika Relocations. Avril Conroy will also give a review of the Global Irish Economic Forum which took place recently in Dublin.



Children’s Back-to-School Party, 6 September, Embassy of Ireland

We will hold our annual children’s summer party on Sunday 6th September in the Embassy on Grokholski pereulok from 12 – 4pm. There will be fun, food and plenty of entertainment! If you wish to attend, please send a note to Avril Conroy with the names and ages of your children no later than Tuesday 1 September.

Club Drinks, 4 September, Sally O’Brien’s Irish Bar

All Club members are invited to come along to Sally’s at 1/3 Bolshaya Polyanka from 8pm on Friday 4 September. The evening will kick off a new year of Irish Club events and we encourage everyone to take advantage of the opportunity to pay their 2010 membership dues.

All club members are welcome to come along to Sally’s at 1/3 Bolshaya Polyanka from 8pm in honour of Bloomsday. Any Joyce scholars are particularly welcome as we may even have some readings from the great book itself…

The Embassy of Ireland will host an exhibition of a retrospective of paintings by the late Igor Gavrilov at 19.00 on Thursday 28 May. Those wishing to attend should register with moscowembassy@dfa.ie in advance.

Eurovision Reception, 12 May, Embassy of Ireland

To mark the visit of the delegation representing Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest, the Embassy of Ireland will host a reception on Tuesday 12 May at 7pm. All Club members are invited to attend and wish them well.

The theme of the Breakfast will be All You Need to Know About Investing in Moscow – a practical guide to opportunities, environment and regulations regarding investments and exports to Moscow. Speakers will include Mr Suren Vardanian, Director General of Investment Gateway Moscow.

Irish Ball and Parade: St Patrick’s Day Celebrations 2009

1. The Irish Ball will take place on Saturday 21 March at 7pm in the Marriott Grand on Tverskaya Street. If you are still looking for tickets please contact Avril Conroy at AConroy@tnk-bp.com. We look forward to a great night of entertainment!

2. The annual St Patrick’s Day Parade will be held on the Novy Arbat on Sunday 22 March, kicking off at 12.30. This year both the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Ms Eibhlin Byrne, and the Mayor of Moscow, Yuri Luzhkov, will attend the parade. We hope you will all come out to support the show and enjoy what promises to be a great day.

To mark the visit of Special Olympics Europe-Eurasia and MEI-RELSA (Association of English Language Schools in Ireland) the Embassy and Enterprise Ireland are hosting a reception at the Embassy. There will be finger food and drinks available and some Russian musicians who play traditional Irish music will also perform.

Irish Film Festival, May 2008
The first Irish Film Festival of Award-winning Feature Films will take place in Moscow between May 28 and June 1, 2008.

The Festival is supported by the Embassy of Ireland in Russia, and Culture Ireland and is being directed by Gerry MacCarthy and Johnny O’Reilly.

The Festival is being organised in association with 35mm Cinema.
